The mat offers some comfort even without air and when it has air it is actually quite comfortable. I ve been very pleased with all the alps mountaineering gear i ve gotten. The pad stayed inflated through the night and was just as comfortable and firm when i woke up i was really impressed. Then close it when it s inflated. This review is for the xl size of the air pads bought as a bit of giving in to the need for a more supportive sleeping pad.

It s light and it keeps you insulated from the ground pretty nicely. It s nice that it can be packed into a fairly small roll.
