I already had a gear sleeve from hg it is a great way to make set up and take down fast and easy with this tarp. It s a doorless tarp designed for use with a hammock and provides an excellent way to slash the weight of a backpacking camping hammock setup by as much as a pound if your current hammock tarp is made with silnylon or silicone impregnated polyester silpoly. All the hardware is nice quality gear. To me the higher price is worth the weight to save every ounce.

Overall i am very happy with my purchase and it was well worth the wait while i saved up for it. At 5ozs sq yard it is very light and the finished tarp comes in at 5 2 ounces. Doors can reduce the amount of colder air flowing over under and around you. Mine weighs 6 63ozs with all guy lines and a pair of dutchware tarp flyz.

I understand that this was meant for hammocking so the tieout points are more geared towards that but its also a very effective ground shelter with a few minor mods. This ultralight tarp will keep you warm and dry in just about any condition. Everything is well made on this tarp. Early reviewers of cuben fiber questioned it s durability over the long term.

All of hammock gear s tarps are made with pride in the usa. Recent reviews seem to have put those concerns to rest. The color of this tarp is a bit greener than it appears here but it is still quite transparent. I used sil nylon snake skins in the past but i think this will help to shed some water off of the tarp better and it is way lighter.
